Founder Bio - Mike Lewellen

Lewellen started working in earnest on the creation of the Intelligent Sprinkler Control (ISC) program in December 2005, and formally established Lake Valley Engineering, LLC in August 2006.

Lewellen began his current endeavor following 27 years of dedicated service with high tech companies along the Colorado front range. Most recently, he worked 6 years at Cellport Systems in Boulder Colorado, a company that introduced and pioneered sophisticated cell phone hands free technology and internet networking for automotive applications. Lewellen established and led teams that developed Cellport's global manufacturing, design verification, and quality systems. He was promoted to Vice President of Operations 6-months after joining Cellport. In 2002 he was tasked with leading Cellport product development and his role expanded to include finance, personnel, and business development. Later, he supported the companies' legal endeavors and gained valuable exposure to IP portfolio assessment and management. He garnered hands on experience and knowledge in automotive and big box contracts prior to leaving in November 2005.

Before Cellport, Lewellen held increasingly responsible positions in product development, manufacturing, test engineering, and quality with Storage Technology, and Philips Laser Magnetic Storage, major mass storage companies in Colorado. Lewellen received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University in 1979.
